拜神点燃蜡烛是什么含义？
代表赤子之欣纯而不杂
敬神一般是用红色的蜡烛，红色是心的颜色，表示对神明的真心诚意。道教中的“丹心”，“赤诚” 等，都是指我们至诚至真之心，用如此诚敬的心来拜神，就是“拜神如神在”， 没有半点不敬之心。
祈求前途光明，开启人生智慧
道教认为，“世上一个人，天上一颗星”，意思是指每个人都有一颗天星注照本命。向神明敬献蜡烛，是企求本命星辰光彩，命运亨通，消除黑暗和不顺，破除人生迷茫， 开启人生智慧。

向神明点燃蜡烛，就是为了学习蜡烛“燃烧自己，照亮别人” 的高尚品德， 把自己修持成坦荡无私，光明磊落，苦己利他，勇于奉献的人。
Why do we light candles when we pray?
To Reflect A Pure Heart
Taoist normally use red candles during worshipping. The 5 organs are represented by 5 different colors of the candle. Red refers to the Heart,
& it symbolizes praying to the Deity with a sincere heart. By using candles as
offering , the Deity will definitely be moved by our sincerity.
Pray For A Brighter Future & Light Up Our Intelligence
Taoist believe “For every person on earth , there will be a star in the sky”,
meaning that everyone has a star which will affect his luck. The brighter the star is,
the more prosperous the person will be and the future of the person will be brighter.
If the star is dim, the person will not have much luck and will have an uncertain future.
Hence, by offering candles in front of a deity,one can pray for good luck & prosperity.
The Taoist spell for offering of the candles advocates :
“To break through the vast darkness & to enlighten the brillance upon the ten directions.”
Brightness is associated with the Intelligence of the person & darkness associated with uncertainty.
Therefore it means to break away from uncertainty & be blessed with intelligence.
Learning About Selflessness
The Candle burns itself away to provide light for others. The selfless virtue of the candle deserves our respect & we should learn to
help others & not be selfish. By offering candles to the Deity, we should remind ourselves to learn from the candle to be selfless
& to be sure of what we are doing.
